.the grownup K O O L A I D.

Last summer I was visiting a friend in Seaside, FL and we went out to dinner at Tommy Bahama. I ordered a glass of their Pomegranate Sangria and fell in love! When I got back to Texas I was craving a glass so I decided to call that same Tommy Bahama and ask for the recipe. They were happy to give it to me but I decided to tweak it and make it my own :)
This is always a crowd pleaser. Every time I make my Sangria I have ladies bribing me for the recipe :) This is perfect for summertime or any event because it needs to be made several hours before or even the day before your shindig.

{SOUTHERN STYLE POMEGRANATE SANGRIA}

INGREDIENTS:
44 oz Red Wine ( I usually use a cabernet )
12 oz Brandy (preferebly the sweetest Brandy you can find)
2 cups orange juice without pulp
2 cups pomegranate juice cocktail
1 can (11.5 oz) peach nectar (I use Kern's Peach Nectar)
1 cup sugar
the juice from 1 lemon and 1 lime

*you will also need 1 orange, 1 green apple,1 lemon and 1 lime sliced

DIRECTIONS:
1.) Mix all ingredients together in an extra large pitcher
2.) Add sliced fruit in with the Sangria (it will probably float on top) and let it marinate for several hours or as long as possible

*After it has chilled and guests are about to arrive, mix/stir it really well. And I like to remove the sliced fruit and add fresh sliced fruit.
* Serve with sugar rimmed glasses filled with a couple of blackberries or rasberries for an extra touch!
